Pandemic Updates
Covid 19 has changed so much for so many people since March 2020. Here at the farm, things are continuing on although our retail outlet at the St. Jacobs Farmer's Market was closed during the lock downs. Our Canadian Alpaca Products booth is now open in accordance with local health regulations. Masks must be worn inside the Peddlar's Village building and while visiting our booth. All of our staff are fully vaccinated, properly masked, and regularly tested using rapid tests to keep everyone as safe as possible. All products and surfaces are regularly sanitized. We look forward to seeing our friends and customers again!
Shearing Day
Our Canadian Alpaca Products crew has been traveling to member farms and shearing the alpacas so we can bring you the softest socks, insoles, yarn and pattern kits for the coming year. The alpacas get a cooler hairstyle for the warm summer months and we get their wonderful fibre. In the 15-20 minutes that they are on the shearing table, the alpacas also have their nails and teeth checked and trimmed, their annual vaccinations, and a general health inspection.
Our Alpaca Whisperer Adria comforts one of the fluffy huacayas. She also uses lavender oil to help soothe the nervous alpacas.
